Had an OB appointment! A distress test was performed, where they monitor the baby's heart rate and check to see if I'm having any contractions. So, after a good half hour the verdict came back with "No contractions & Baby is doing good." The OB checked me out and I have not progressed with dilation...JOY! He did a membrane scrape, hopefully that will move things along?! So, I go back next Thursday for some monitoring. If nothing happens by Monday (41wks 1 day) I will be induced! It felt good leaving the office with a plan!
It also feels good knowing our Little Darling is healthy and we are OK!
Mr. Southbay is up in PA with me now and it has been wonderful having him by my side. He has been absolutely amazing..incredibly supportive. I could go on and on...
my beloved mani & pedicurist let me know she's got the magic hands to massage the baby right out of my feet. lol she always has a line of women who are ready to pop.. lol. I'll schedule her for 39-40 if Landon won't budge! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI hope you go into labor before next monday--mainly because if you don't, and you walk in to get induced with no sign of baby being ready, I just feel like you miss out on the excitement of "going into labor". Trust me, i KNOW it sucks waiting but when you look back and you share your story with others, its fun to be able to say i went into labor on...and i was in the middle of...etc, etc.. ya know? Besides the second that he arrives, there's not much more exciting then getting to tell your mom, omg, im in labor!! and then her getting to make a dozen phone calls to spread the excitement! Plus, letting your body take the natural course of things and having Darin by your side timing your contractions is just the moments you dont want to miss! I'm not gonna lie, I had an induction scheduled with Tyler for a Monday at 41weeks and 1day as well but thank goodness I went into labor at home on that Thursday night before. It just all flys by like a whirlwind and getting to experience that feeling that you wait over 9 LONG months for, is just something to cherish forever! Now, yes, I scheduled a c-section with Emma the second time around because I was GOD AWFUL unfortable and I had all of the natural experiences with Tyler, but trust me when I say you will feel "jipped" so to speak if you don't get to experience everything you've waited for on your first time! Being that things took a turn for the worst with Tyler after 2hours of pushing and I had to go for an emergency c-section after 30hours of labor, I wanted so bad to give birth vaginally but it just wasnt in the cards for me. On top of it all, he had to go to the NICU for a few days so it was a crazy ride! To this day I still feel saddened that I never got to experience having a vaginal birth and that feeling of them putting him on my chest, seeing him the second he came out and Jer cutting the cord. But it is what it is and I'm just glad that everything turned out ok and I still got to experience labor, outside of an induction! I remember what you posted on my facbook when I was impatiently waiting.. you said, "In due time"... same goes for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!
