Andrew's Nursery

It only took us like forever to complete it..and is it really completed? No, we are still on the hunt for a piece of furniture to set the monitor on..but till then, I think it looks great.

The bedding is from Land of Nod.

Pillow and lamp is from Target.  Blanket is made my a dear friend..my MOH to be precise!

Storage bins were snatched up at Lowes! I found that cute elephant at Pier One..just a lovely random surprise! The rest were all gifts!

Oh, I was so excited to frame two of my favorite prints of Andrew! A Thank you to Heather Blair Photography!

The letter "A" & "Love" was found at Michaels. Frame-Ross, Birds-Belk, Print-gift shoppe in Mt. Gretna, PA. They were all random finds..I figured I'd eventually find everything I needed if I didn't exactly plan it!

After doing some reading about designing a baby's room..and applying some "feng shui" concepts, it totally changed my perspective on my approach. Now, I didn't go 100% "feng shui" but I did follow some "concepts." For instance, I have a framed picture of  "Mom & Dad." Showing that we are the parents and that there is a level of respect in place.

Oh, I found that sheep at a grocery store and it was on a major sale after Easter! He was too cute to pass up! Changing cover was found on Etsy at Little Owls Nest.

Two of my favorite prints! Over at Hop Skip Jump Paper-"I Love You More than Saturday College Football." That print was from Daddy..if you didn't already guess that! On the right, is a bedtime prayer, found over at Enduring Arts. Frames-IKEA

Elephant bank found at Pottery Barn Kids. Letter "A" book end-Target

I wasn't sure which way to go with the drapes. I originally had a bright teal color but decided against them..I wanted a room that was relaxing/soothing...We located the drapes over at Lowes too! The grey lamp is from IKEA. Do you see a small car sitting in the left window sill? That is Mr. Southbay's pinewood derby car as a young boy..It matched perfectly and to have something so special to put in Andrew's room well, it puts a smile on both our faces!

The baby furniture was purchased at Rock-a-Bye Baby in Annville, Pa. Brand-Westwood Designs.  The book shelf is from Target.  Leather recliner-Ashleys Furniture

Just about everything purchased for Andrew's nursery was on sale..Every time I would go to Target..or well any store for that matter I always had my eyes open for the next special piece! Since we rent, I couldn't paint the walls which really limited me on what I had in envisioned in the first place..but it made me look outside the box and figure out how to add color other ways..we are definitely by no means interior decorators..but this small project was fun! Project Nursery was a HUGE help!

Andrew's Big Day!

On May 27, our Andrew was baptized! At 3pm, the ceremony commenced at our church with several friends and family.

I don't have any real good shots of his first outfit. This was my Brother's baptism outfit..and I loved the idea of Andrew wearing it as well!

He was baptized into an Orthodox Church. It is a very traditional service. Approximately 45 minutes long.

I was soo proud of my little guy!

Then they take a couple pieces of his hair. Well, our Priest got a little carried away and can you see the spots on his head?! Oh, I gasped... I know when we look back at this day, we will laugh. Its only hair!

Yes, he almost slept the entire time... he was soo good! Even when they put him in the water. The picture below shows him in his 2nd outfit. I had it made over at Happy Little Monkey on Etsy.

Here we are with his two Godmothers. Yes, we are a little different... we went with two amazing women from our church who I have no doubt will fulfill the role of Godparent to the fullest!

Below is a picture of a good friend from high school. Since being back East, I have been able to see my friends a lot more. It's soo nice! Andrew was starting to wake up around this time.... He looks so cute in his outfit!

Afterwards, we had a dinner and socialized! It was so nice to spend time with everyone..especially those who were meeting Andrew for the first time!! I decided to splurge and get a cake specially made for Andrew's big day :) It was filled with fresh strawberries! Super delicious btw..  I found a new baker in our area in Central PA. Katie's Cakes Cakery.

I made these yummy treats!

Do you see a color theme developing here?!
I couldn't resist getting napkins made too! Those were of course purchased by Tere Quade! I have used her service for several events now, and I'm always happy with the results!

My last little detail...I created some favors for our guests... I had tons of plastic little bags left from my baby shower. I saw something similar online and just whipped up about 30. Mr. Southbay helped me out and we were very pleased with our work :)

Andrew was so good! Our Priest was so impressed with how he slept just about the whole time... Once we made it back to my parent's house, I had to get a picture with his Gigi :) aka my Mom!

He loves looking up at the pergola.

He is officially Orthodox! I hope to remember to put on his cross each time we go to church for communion.   It looks so cute pinned on him! Did I mention how proud I am? :)

Drew's 2 Months Update!

Can you believe we are already at 2 months :)
You are becoming so darn handsome!

*You are very curious with your tongue lately. Always moving it around..and sticking it out! Drives me nuts sometimes:) Blowing bubbles is new too! When you want more food after a feeding you cry and spray saliva all over me...fun!

* Tummy time..or should we call it screaming time? You are definitely not a fan of this, yet we persevere. We try tummy time on the bed since its softer and have you look over the edge.. this works very well! Sometimes, you do tummy time on me! I prefer this method!

*Up to about 4 ounces, oh vey! Getting sooo big! When you are hungry you let us know with such loud cries. It's a very specific cry with a big frown.

*Smiling all the time! Makes me melt...

*During the day we have "school time" as I call it :) You sit in your boost chair or boppy pillow and look at black and white pictures, music toys, and I sometimes read to you. It all depends on your mood! Below are a few pictures of you in action!

Yes, Kingston is there too!

You could look at these for a good 15 minutes... its seriously amazes me!

Looking sooo serious in your chair..ready for business!  We were up in your room one day and I figured we see how you would look sitting in your chair.. Ya got a ways to go before you fit properly in there! Nonetheless..still adorbs and I don't want you to fit in that chair... stay small don't get older please :)

*Since you are eating more... you are going through diapers so much faster! We are attempting to give the "g" diapers a try.. I'll give you an update next month :)

*Baby acne has come and almost gone! Whew...

*You are growing soo fast Little Darling. I do have your measurements but they are up at Gigi's house. So I will plug them in asap! Next week is your well visit and first round of shots.. I am NOT looking forward to this.

*Doctors, we love your pediatrician up in PA but I think we finally found a good one down in MD. This was pretty stressful. I only want the best for you!

*When you are so tired and need that little boost to get to sleep I put you in the fake "breastfeeding hold." Give you a pacifier and wow, you are out within five minutes. It is seriously amazing how fast that works.. especially when you are cranky and sooo overly tired.

*When you are awake and alert your eyes are soo big! Tracking has gotten really good!

*Sunday May27th, was your baptism!
First communion June 3

*First church picnic June 3 :) You met soo many people who love you...
Below is a picture of you just snoozing at the picnic. Our little boxer!

*Daddy has been working a ton of hours lately so we have been spending some time up in PA.  Making tons of trips to A&M and Amish Hooters (inside joke)...

*Sleeping, at night it will be a good 4-5hrs before you wake up..then it could be 3hrs. Still figuring it out :) But sticking to a strict routine. I call it the 3B's.. Bath, Bottle, Bed :)

*Some of your clothing is getting too small :( Especially in length! We started a bag in your closet..the "no longer fit bag." It's kinda sad...
